Why Can't I Leave the Box Alone?

Not only did I pick up my box this morning. I hugged it close to my chest then stuck my head in it and began suffocating.

Tomorrow the CA state legislatures vote on their budget which not only cuts education drastically (if my husband gets to keep his job it'll be at a pay cut) but also raises sales tax and gas tax. A triple whammy for us. The implications for my family is financially devestating.

I'm struggling right now, trying to count my blessings to pull my head out the box. I'm reading my own prayers and some other people's blogs. I thank those of you who have such positive messages in your blogs that I can refer back to. The ups and downs of life really can be hell some times. Today is one of those days.

The song "Revelation" by Third Day says it all so precisely this morning. If you're struggling, take a moment to listen to the words.

God, I need your grace and your peace to help me get through this day and this struggle. I am so tired and need your strength and guidance. Through Jesus Christ I offer this prayer. Amen.

  1. I love Third Day and I love this song! You have given alot of inspiration to many. So here is what you need to remember. God Knows! God Knows right now your feelings. He knows your struggle. His heart aches for you in your moments of struggle. He may be heading you and your family down a new path, one that will gloryify Him. One that you are going to write a post about telling all of us how His wonderful provision and love got you through this. God knows the end of this situation. I always find comfort in that. He sees the end of this, and already knows what/how you will come out. Your ways are not His, your thoughts are not His. He never promises that your life will be fair, but He is. He doesn't promise it will be easy, but He will walk this road with you, and even carry you in His loving arms when you tire. He knows...He loves you...He will provide what HE knows you need to serve Him. I will be praying for you and your family. I hope that this may offer so relief.

  2. Tonya, you are wonderful. Thanks so much for the encouraging words. During the day I was able to close the box and put it at His feet again. If a door closes here, we'll look for an open window (and not to jump!). Your post about the e-book on your blog is giving me some hope. I'm investigating tonight! I love the connections we're making here!
